Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was originally announced for PS4 and Xbox One back in June, and is due to launch on October 2, 2020. You can check out the new State of Play trailer in the video embedded below. The trailer features lots of interesting tidbits. For one, it once again confirms that Crash Bandicoot 4 is a direct sequel to Crash Bandicoot: Warped. It also mentions that you can play the whole game as Coco - and, funnily enough, you can also play as Dingodile. Wild. The game is also “loaded with skins,” and it has been confirmed that they are earned by completing challenges and collecting gems. There are no microtransactions. We also learned a bit more about the four new Quantum Masks - one allows you to reverse gravity, another permits you to slow time, and another enables you to literally control reality. The fourth mask’s ability has yet to be revealed. In related news, Activision has stated that it is “evaluating additional platforms” for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, meaning that it may eventually come to PC, Nintendo Switch, or Google Stadia. It’s worth noting that the N.Sane trilogy was originally only released for PS4, but that Sony only had timed exclusivity - eventually, it came to PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Apparently, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has over 100 playable levels. According to official art, it’s a “full sequel with 100+ levels of play, new game modes, and new abilities for innovative gameplay." Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is due to launch on October 2, 2020. As it stands, it’s coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Crash may have kicked off today’s State of Play, but there were lots of other announcements, too. For example, we also got to see new Godfall gameplay for PS5, as well as another Bugsnax trailer - which is somehow even more odd than the last one. Meanwhile, Hitman 3 was announced for PSVR, Temtem was announced for PS5, and Braid was announced for PS4 (and possibly PS5). All three are due to launch in early 2021.
